Ascar Radio Controlled Racing.- Introduction.

1/10th Scale I.C. OVAL ASCAR R/C RACING SERIES.

INTRODUCTION.

What is ASCAR R/C RACING?

This is a scale Radio Controlled version of the Full-sized ASCAR RACING formula! Cars are powered by small I.C. (nitro-powered) engines, and controlled by Radio Control. We will be racing on different scale Oval tracks around the U.K., as well as a couple of circuit tracks.(The same as the Full-sized series.)

THE ETHICS OF THE FORMULA.

This formula is based upon the full-sized “Nascar” ethos of close racing, with equally paced cars; where set-up skills, driving skills, tactics, and reliability can win the races!
It is planned to have LONG races, with fuel stops, and tyre changes. This way we should have much longer track time at meetings, compared with existing Oval formulas. This should hopefully encourage drivers that travel some distance to the meetings, knowing that they can have a chance to race in an A, B, C or even D final.
Everyone can expect a good days racing.
If time permits, after the “MAIN” Final, we could even have a Feature Race, where non-finalists start in reverse qualifying position, for a sprint race lasting 50 laps.
The idea is to let the I.C. Touring Car drivers have the opportunity to race on our existing Oval tracks, and circuit tracks around the country, with only the requirement of changing the body of the car to a Nascar/ASCAR style body shell.
By splitting the formula into two classes, we are also encouraging novices, and experienced drivers alike!
We plan to run races, with finals lasting in excess of 300 laps, or a minimum of 30 minutes, with a format of qualifying, and heats allowing a driver to progress from say the “C” Final, all the way to the “MAIN” Final.

We are already lucky to have received the backing of “ASCAR” (Anglo-American Stock Car Racing), who have endorsed this Radio Controlled version of their own full-sized racing series. With their help, we should be able to find some main sponsors for our own formula, to help make it a truly International series?

Already, "Radio Race Car International"(The UK's most popular Radio Controlled Model car magazine), has offered to sponsor the very first year, of this new oval racing formula. The series to be known as: - The BRCA/RRCI/ASCAR R/C NATIONAL Series.
This will greatly benefit the series, by providing regular race reports, news, and updates in the magazine.
Radio Race Car International will award end of year trophies to 1, 2, 3rd positions, in both Sport and Pro class, along with a single trophy for best junior overall.
